Getting Started

Set up mdworkspace Desktop, create your first workspace, and move into a useful workflow quickly.

Getting Started

mdworkspace Desktop is easiest to understand when you build one real workspace right away.

Install Desktop

Start from the download page, complete the current alpha access flow, and install the Windows app.

Create your first workspace

Begin with a simple working document:

  1. Give the workspace a clear name.
  2. Draft the first page in plain markdown.
  3. Use headings and short sections to shape the work early.

Add structure only when it helps

The best first upgrade is usually one of these:

  • A section split with --- for clearer document movement
  • A table for comparisons or tracked data
  • A checklist for action items
  • A board when the work becomes status-driven

Keep the first project practical

A good first workspace is not a demo. It is something you already need:

  • A project brief
  • A research log
  • A documentation page
  • A planning board

Next step

Apply the pattern in the live desktop surface.

Use the guide as the map, then turn it into a real workspace inside mdworkspace Desktop.
